A mental health crisis has been growing in Cincinnati – and across the nation. Children and adolescents are struggling with unprecedented levels of depression, anxiety, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress and other mental and behavioral health conditions.

You almost certainly know a family who has been affected by a child’s mental illness. Whether it results in a daily struggle to fit, poor performance at school, social isolation, self-harm or the tragedy of teen suicide, one thing is certain: Families in our community need help.

While other providers are cutting funding or closing mental health programs altogether, we’re continuing to invest in this work – to invest in a future where all children can get the support they need to thrive.

Thanks to a lead philanthropic gift of $36 million from the Convalescent Hospital Fund for Children, Cincinnati Children’s expanded our College Hill Campus in Fall 2023 to transform mental healthcare for the kids and families in our region.

The new William K. Schubert, M.D. Mental Health Center, which measures 160,000 square feet, is 68% larger than the building it is replacing and features 83 private rooms, improving personalized care for all patients.

You can join us as we continue to strengthen the impact of this facility and expand our programming to support kids and families in crisis. Gifts of all sizes make an impact.

Your support will help us transform care at our College Hill campus – providing private rooms for 100% of our patients, creating private spaces for families and dedicated areas for group therapies.

Together with donors, we’re pioneering school and community-based programs and implementing early interventions to prevent the need for hospitalization.
