One of the ways we’re tackling the mental health epidemic in our community is by identifying needs and addressing them before they become crises. And thanks to partners like the Convalescent Hospital for Children, we’re revolutionizing the delivery of care.

We’re embedding psychologists into pediatric primary care offices and integrating mental health screenings into regular well-check visits—allowing providers to immediately address mental health and behavioral issues. We’re also educating families on positive parenting techniques and partnering with schools to foster healthy emotional development.

With this early intervention model, we can address physical and emotional needs as they emerge—in one seamless system—creating better outcomes and healthier kids.

We’re also expanding outpatient care delivered through Cincinnati Children’s locations, neighborhood clinics, schools and community agencies and improving access to partial hospitalization programs.

Expanding availability of day programs for children needing help managing activities at school and home provides much needed support and reduces the need for hospitalization.
