Even prior to our expansion of our College Hill Campus, Cincinnati Children’s was the largest inpatient mental health provider of any children’s hospital in the United States.

Now, with 100% private rooms, we know our campus will help even more with a patient’s journey toward healing.

From the moment patients and families walk through the front door, they will feel welcomed by the warmth of the lobby that sits underneath a skylight. This design element is one of several ideas incorporated by the planning team using feedback provided by patients, families and staff.

Other improvements include a Family Resource Center providing families support space where they can find and review information and resources, make calls, use a computer, or take a break during their visit, a cafeteria to offer expanded food options for patients and guests, an enhanced educational center and therapeutic treatment spaces designed to help patients move throughout the building—much like they would experience in school.

There are still opportunities to invest in critically important recreational areas to make our College Hill Campus even more equipped to be a place of hope and healing for kids and families facing mental health struggles.
