With 100 inpatient beds and an additional 30 specialized residential beds, Cincinnati Children’s is the largest inpatient mental health provider of any children’s hospital in the United States. Much of this work is done at our College Hill campus.

While programming is strong, the physical buildings at College Hill are out of date.  Lack of space has resulted in many shared patient rooms, which is hard on both the child in crisis as well as his or her family.  The limitations of the current facility also significantly restrict access to natural light, recreation and time outdoors.

Your capital investment will allow us to provide private rooms for 100% of patients and spaces for families to plan for the child’s transition home. Your support will also enable us to create dedicated space for group therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and recreational therapy. These services currently take place in shared spaces and when one child’s behavior escalates, the entire group must stop, disrupting treatment for all involved.
